Access Carroll

A Healthcare Home for the Uninsured of Carroll County.
Access Carroll, Inc. was developed in coordination with the Carroll County
Health Department, Carroll Hospital Center, and The Partnership for a Healthier
Carroll County.
The mission of Access Carroll, Inc. is to improve pathways to primary health
care of all ages for the uninsured low-income residents of Carroll County. We
believe that every individual should have access to health care that is
coordinated, comprehensive, culturally sensitive, community based, accountable
and of high quality.

Carroll County Youth Service Bureau

Carroll County Youth Service Bureau has
committed ourselves to provide a continuum of community-based
mental health services for children, adults, and families in
Carroll County. We use a multi disciplinary approach to deliver
prevention, intervention, and treatment services in the least
restrictive and most cost effective manner. In the true spirit
of the helping profession, we are dedicated to excellence in
service, innovation in programming, and responsiveness to our
community.

Taneytown Lions Club

Serving the Community, the
World, and Lionism for over 62 years.
The Taneytown Lions Club was organized, June 24, 1947, sponsored by the Union
Bridge Lions and chartered September 9, 1947 with 29 charter members.
Our club currently has 64 members. It meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the
month at 6:29 p.m. at the Firemans Activity Building on Memorial Drive,
Taneytown, MD 21787.
The club continues to serve the community with many service projects, donations
to worthy causes, and help in times of need. We support LIONS number one
priority of Sight Conservation and aid to the visually impaired with significant
contributions to the Maryland Eye bank, LIONS Vision Research Center, and Leader
Dog program. In recent years, we have helped more and more needy individuals
with eye exams and glasses.

Westminster Lions Club

Dedicated to the principles of good
government, good citizenship, and community service. Provides financial and
other support for programs such as the Cancer Society, Red Cross, Maryland Eye
Bank, Westminster Fire Department, Diabetes Association, and ARC of Carroll
County. Provides financial support to needy people for eye examinations,
glasses, hearing tests, and hearing aids. Collects used eyeglasses for
recycling. Sponsors Little League. Grants four two-year college scholarships to
students graduating from Westminster High School and a one-year scholarship to a
student graduating from the Carroll County Career and Technology Center.
Conducts fund-raising activities throughout the year. Meetings are 6:30 pm the
second and fourth Thursday of each month at the VFW, 519 Poole Road,
Westminster.

* brief description of services provided
* how the citizens of Westminster and Carroll County are directly served
* size of population served
* describe the organization’s volunteer base
* special needs of the organization for 2012
